Hotel Bijay Niwas Palace
Bijayniwas
Palace Resort was built in 1910 as a 'summer retreat' by Rao Bijay
Singhji, Masuda and it surprisingly retains the same tranquil
ambience even today -- that of a royal gateway.
Take a walk in the restful, serene over 50 acre orchard. Pamper
yourself with royal luxuries at any of the artistically designed
suites, which carry the royal ambience by their original vintage
furniture and exotic scenario of traditional Rajasthani wall
murals.
If the mornings are a bird watcher's joy, the evenings are for
those who hold a special penchant for freedom of gypsy songs and
haunting melodies of ballads and folk music.
The most prefered is a quite dinner besides the bonfire and the
bar-be-cue, and a relaxing sunny morning breakfast in the lawns.

Hotel Roopnagar Fort
The
history of Roopangarh Fort goes back to Maharaja Kishan
Singh son of Mota Raja Udai Singh of Jodhpur, who conquered this
tract of land and established and regularised his kingdom in 1611.
In 1643 the fifth Ruler, Maharaja Roop Singh declared Roopangarh
as the capital of his state and named it after himself. By 1649,
it grew into a town unparalleled in beauty, a "Roopnagar" which
means a 'city of beauty'. After many glorious battles, difficult
sieges and heroic sacrifices it continued as the capital of
Kishangarh state up till 1748.
Today the present Maharaja Brajraj Singh of Kishangarh has
sensitively restored and renovated this unique war Fort into a 19
room hotel and it resounds with a sense of history for every
individual traveller.
The Fort rises out of the distance, the palaces outdoing it as if
in prominence.
You enter through a gate from a bazaar that has no quite lost its
antique flavour.
350 summers and winters have come and gone yet hardly a stone lies
out of place. Adjacent to the Chaburja (4-towers) with its secret
passage and immense underground water storage tank nestle the
palaces, far more delicate and fragile.
The large Reception Lounge was earlier the hall of Audience and
interestingly came to be called AMM_KHAS by the Mughal Emperor
"Shah Alam Bahadur Shah 1st" who likened it to the Diwan-e-Aam and
Diwan-e-Khas of Delhi's Red Fort.
Location -
Jaipur 125 Kms, Ajmer 54 Kms, Pushkar 50 Kms, Makrana 30 Kms,
Sambhar 20 Kms, Kishangarh 25 Kms, Karkeri 15 Kms.
Rooms-
Large guest bedrooms, incredibly high ceilings, wide doors,
casements and romantic balconies all a reminder of a time when
inhabitants thirsted and drank nothing but the fresh exhilarating
breeze.
When the dusk falls over the 'Zenana Mahal' (now converted into a
"Queen suite") even the most prosaic guest can conjure up faint
echoes from the past of the firm bold step of the warrior, the
softer football, the whisper of silks, romance and intrigue.
Restaurants-
The Darbar Hall is now a dining hall with table and buffet
service. Carefully selected menus of Indian cuisine adapted with
old family recipes are served by a staff inspired by centuries of
royal Indian tradition.
Facilities-
- A tennis court on the upper terrace of the Fort gives a new
meaning to a game.
- Camel Safari or take a picnic hamper to watch the sun setting on
the edge of the desert.
- Drive to Sambhar Lake Salt Flats to observe the spectacular bird
life.
